Philanthropy is important to Lidia. In November 2007, Lidia founded the National Organization for Women’s Safety Awareness, Inc., (the NOWSA) a 501(c)(3) non-profit which was established to fulfill a fundamental need in our country to provide more information, awareness, and knowledge about women's personal safety issues.

Lidia has also volunteered her time speaking to women about safety awareness at numerous community organizations such as the Coalition Against Child Abuse and Neglect, the Girl Scouts, the Long Island Women’s Agenda, the Women’s Financial Network and others. She has been active with Project Safe Neighborhood through the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, New York State’s Operation Safe Child, and was invited to be a Conference Mentor at the Guardian Girls Going Places Entrepreneurship Conference in March 2009.

In April 2008, Lidia received the prestigious “Prevention Through Education Award” from Child Abuse Prevention Services and in October 2008, she was honored for her ongoing commitment to improving the lives of women at “About Face 2008: Making Changes,” an annual Long Island benefit for survivors of domestic violence. In June 2006, Lidia was crowned Mrs. New York America and she also received the Mrs. Community Service Award. While representing New York State in the Mrs. America Pageant, Lidia was selected as a Top 12 Finalist. Lidia is also the founder of Everything Lidia, Inc., a multi-platform lifestyle enterprise devoted to educating, training, challenging and inspiring women to live safer, more fulfilling and remarkable lives. Through this organization, Lidia presents “Stylish Safety” Women’s Personal Safety Awareness seminars to corporations and educational institutions which teach women practical and effective defensive techniques while promoting awareness, building confidence and empowering women with a keen ense of assertiveness.

In May 2007, Everything Lidia, Inc. launched its nationwide campaign designed to spread awareness about crimes against women throughout the United States. The campaign, known as "Listen for the Whistle" consists of two parts – the innovative women's safety program, "Stylish Safety” and the promotion and sale of the "Diva’s Crystal Whistle," a designer brass whistle beautifully bejeweled with genuine European crystals attached to a black leather cord. The "Diva’s Crystal Whistle,” the symbol of this women's safety awareness campaign, is an invaluable yet simple safety device that is functional and fashionable. As a visual and audible crime deterrent, women of all ages are urged to “Carry” the whistle, “Use” the whistle, and "Listen for the Whistle." The campaign advocates the notion that the sound of a whistle means that somebody nearby may need help. Referred to by California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as "a fresh and unique approach to a very important issue," the goal of the "Listen for the Whistle" campaign is to promote women's safety awareness, educate women on how to maintain their personal safety while raising money for victims of crime.

As a modern day Renaissance Woman, Lidia encourages women to try new things, broaden their horizons and to “check their ordinary at the door.” As Lidia says, “Be your best at whatever you do and always bring your personal style into it. This isn’t a dress rehearsal. Make the most of every breath you take.”

Lidia currently resides on Long Island in Dix Hills with her husband, and their three children. During her free time, Lidia enjoys motorcycle and dirt bike riding with her family, fitness training, playing tennis, skiing, windsurfing, and boating.
